Deacon Manuel Carrasco, Pastor of the Church of Blues
Deacon Manuel is a seasoned community organizer, musician, and devoted blues enthusiast since his college days at UCLA (Class of '86). He brings a unique blend of spirituality and musicality to our congregation. Initially ordained in California in 1996, he believes that the blues, with its rich history and soul-stirring melodies, invites a spiritual experience that can heal and uplift the people.
Pastor Carrasco invites all to share in the harmony of the blues and encourages us to find solace and connection through its timeless melodies.
Associate Pastor Smokey Rain
Laura Smokeyrain McCuistion, our Associate Pastor, is a multifaceted spirit whose love for music and community knows no bounds. She brings a wealth of experience as a Chief Gelotologist, founder of the Kauai Earth Magic Institute, and a former film production expert.
Smokeyrain's journey in the Church of Blues is a testament to the universal appeal of the blues. Her diverse background has allowed her to see the common thread that weaves through the human experience, and that thread is music.
